At the risk of being repetitive (I’ve written about this book twice), I want to mention Impractical Spaces: Houston again. I have copies for sale right now at Storenvy shop. For $20, you can have a book that tells a somewhat different story of Houston’s art history. It is told through the lens of the many alternative spaces that have popped into and out of existence since 1940s (although most came along later—the 80s and 2010s were strong decades for the formation of new art spaces.)
I was a publisher for a long time, and I know from experience that books printed overseas take a long time to get here. When I’d use printers in Malaysia or China, we’d get a few copies airmailed to us, then the bulk of the print run was palletized and shipped over on the slowest freighters in the world. Something like that happened with Impractical Spaces: Houston.
Impractical Spaces: Houston was written and edited by Orange Show curator Pete Gershon. (I wrote a chapter of the Commerce Street Artists Warehouse.)
If you are interested in the Houston art scene and its history,
order this book!

Hi Robert, I'm very interested in buying a copy from you, it looks very interesting! Do you have any sample pages that I could take a look at before I purchase the book? Thank you!
Any chance you will have more copies available? Dying to read this!!
