A few days ago, Charlie Kirk, head of the neo-Nazi youth organization Turning Point USA, successfully trolled liberals with his theory that liberals like high rises while conservatives live on the ground. He even suggested that developers should build out and flat to create more conservatives. People thought this was stupid, because it is. He seems to suggest that people become conservative because they are living on the ground while people become liberal because they are in high rises. So I guess everyone who lives above the ground floor in Trump Tower is a liberal?
Except for confusing cause and effect, I don’t think Charlie Kirk is wrong. People who live in high rises are choosing to live in the city, and cities are, on average, more liberal places than the sprawling suburbs. This is another example of city-hate that conservatives have been preaching forever.
But one thing I know from looking at Houston Area Realtors real estate listings is that people who live in high rises seem more likely to collect art than people who live in houses. This is an utterly unscientific conclusion, but when I look at condos on HAR for sale, it seems like I am more likely to see art than when I look at houses. If I were one to come to ridiculous conclusions like Charlie Kirk, I’d say that liking art makes you liberal. (I don’t really believe this, but there does seem to be a feeling amongst some conservatives that art collecting is effeminate, something for the wife to do.)
Anyway, this is all to lead into several high end condos for sale and the art in them. The first is 1000 Uptown Park 73 83, near the Galleria. Can you identify any of the art here? They all seem to be big abstractions, kind of corporate to my eyes. At best, zombie abstraction.
Slightly more interesting to me was the art at 3433 Westheimer Road #405.
I was definitely intrigues by the ghostly horse in this picture.
Again, a bunch of abstractions (except for the horse piece).
There is a bunch of art at 2727 Kirby Drive 27J.
I always wonder who hangs art over the toilet. Apparently, these people do.
The red sculpture looks like it could be by Michelle O’Michael.
The art over the bed looks a little like Kelley Devine.
More toilet art. This looks like a Joseph Albers print, maybe.
This is perhaps the ultimate in toilet art. They have it placed physically on the toilet.
I have guesses for a couple of pieces. Do any of my readers have sharper eyes than I do? Please make your guesses in the coments!

The orange and blue blobs with shadow at 3433 Westheimer looks like a Paul Kremer (or a knock off). I keep paintings on my toilet!
