Robyn O'Neil at the Dallas Art Fair
If I wasn’t going to be at Zine Fest Houston, I would love to be at the Dallas Art Fair, which is happening this weekend. I’ve been hearing about a bunch of exhibitors, but I was listening to artist Robyn O’Neil’s podcast, Me Reading Stuff, and she mentioned that she would be there because her Houston gallery, Inman Gallery, would be showing a bunch of drawings O’Neil did on hotel stationary. I wanted to share a few of them.
Post Ranch Inn - Falling Horse, 2021
graphite on found paper
O’Neil’s large drawings often depict people falling from the sky. At Big Sur, she did a small variation on that theme.
Essex House - Wolf, 2020
Hotel Stationery Drawings
Essex House is on the south end of Central Park. I wonder if O’Neil was drawing one of the late night park denizens here.
Columbia Artists Management - Eye in Sky, 2021
graphite on found paper
O’Neil likes drawing eyes, but usually they are less prominent.
Tell Her in the Sunshine, 2021
colored pencil, watercolor, gouache and graphite on found paper
She adds a little color when she visited China.
