Update on The Winter Street Fire
On December 20th, a fire broke out at Winter Street Studios, obliterating the studio of photographer Jack Potts and causing serious damage to the rest of the building. I visited it shortly afterwards and shallowly concluded that it didn’t look so bad because the building was still standing. However, it was bad enough that some of the artists have had to permanently leave their studios. Cary Reeder announced yesterday that she has had to vacate her studio there. She’s been there for years. I don’t know how many other artists have had to move.
